Perfume Button Necklace - 1860's Civil War Era
Authentic 1860’s French perfume button. Perfume buttons have an underlay of fabric with a pierced, ornate overlay. During the Civil war period, the women would dab their oil based perfumes on their fabric buttons. Their buttons were given to loved ones as they went off to war as a reminder of them.
A stunning perfume button with black velvet peeking through the triangle in the center of the button is the highlight of this necklace. Detailed blue tinted metal edges the triangle of fabric perfectly. A 1920's mother of pearl button that shimmers with soft blue tones compliments the perfume button.
