Perfume Button Bracelet - 1860's Civil War Era
Authentic 1860’s French perfume button. Perfume buttons have an underlay of fabric with a pierced, ornate overlay. During the Civil war period, the women would dab their oil based perfumes on their fabric buttons. Their buttons were given to loved ones as they went off to war as a reminder of them.
This charm bracelet has five beautiful Victorian buttons and two 1940's rhinestone buttons surrounded by vintage 1940's opaque glass beads. The feature button is the exquisite perfume button with the teal velvet fabric peeking through. A winding leaf adds to the charm of the perfume button. On either side are two 1880's teal mother of pearl buttons with a floral inset and two 1880's teal blue tinted floral buttons from Paris. There is a beautiful button at every angle when it's worn. Timeless history captured in a charm bracelet.
